The entire world held their breath as the Taliban took over the government in Afghanistan in 2021 wondering what it meant for women. While the Taliban exercises their orthodox and mysogisntic policies over women hiding behind the curtain of Sharia Law- women of Afghanistan have not held back and have been the front line of solidarity and resistance, protesting for liberation.
On September 30th, a suicide attack took place at the Kaaj tuition center, in the Dasht-e-Barchi area in the western part of Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul. The attack cost 35 deaths and 80 w0unded, most of them women. The news comes from the United Nations which expressed its condolence to the victims. The suicide attack started with the killing of the guards in front of the education center and ended with the explosion inside.
Despite unrest being rife in Afghanistan for many years, the causes on instability have overtly focused on war and terror. But what about water scarcity in the country and the effects this can have on everyday lives?
